Heather Romanow works with individual adults who are experiencing difficulties navigating interpersonal relationships, adjusting to life transitions, and coping with anxiety, stress, worry, and other challenging emotional experiences.
Heather strives to create a safe and empathetic space where clients feel seen, understood, and accepted. From the very first contact, she seeks to connect and develop a well-attuned therapeutic relationship in which clients can feel comfortable exploring the experiences and contextual history that have shaped their lives, and the way they interact with themselves and others.
Heather engages flexibly and collaboratively with clients to tailor the therapeutic process to their specific strengths and needs. With an understanding of human development grounded in attachment theory and a client-centred perspective, Heather integrates various therapeutic approaches in her work with clients. She incorporates interpersonal, experiential, emotion-focused, acceptance and commitment, mindfulness, and self-compassion approaches to support her clients as they work toward creating meaningful change in their lives and experiencing improved emotional health, well-being, and connection with themselves and others.
Heather is registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario as a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and is a member of the Ontario Association for Mental Health Professionals. She provides psychological services in English.
